St. Lawrence the Illuminator Biography
Lawrence the Illuminator was born in Syrian. However, he migrated with other 300 Christians to Italy after the prosecution of Severus in 514. He was then ordained in Rome, Italy. He served as a Bishop for 290 years in Spoleto, Italy. When he arrived to assume his reflection, the people rejected him because he was a foreigner. However, the gates opened miraculously making the people realize that he was God sent. He later resigned and founded the Farfa abbey in the Sabine hills, Rome. He was a renowned peacemaker and had the gift of healing the blind both physically and spiritually a phenomenon which led to his name, Illuminator.
