The Divine Mercy prayer is also referred to as the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy or simply Divine Mercy Chaplet.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is a cherished Christian prayer, particularly in the Catholic tradition, seeking divine mercy for all.

It involves repeating phrases like “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

This prayer, often said using rosary beads, embodies a heartfelt plea for God’s compassion and forgiveness, reminding believers of the boundless love and mercy Jesus offers to those who approach Him with trust and repentance.

It is based on the Christological apparitions of Jesus Christ as reported by Saint Faustina Kowalska a Polish nun and mystic who lived in the early 20th century. She is the apostle of Divine Mercy.

She is renowned for her deep devotion to Jesus and her role in promoting the message of Divine Mercy.

Saint Faustina claimed to have numerous visions and conversations with Jesus, during which He revealed to her the Chaplet of Divine Mercy Prayer.

Saint Faustina’s profound spirituality and her mission to spread the message of God’s infinite mercy have made her a beloved figure, and she was canonized as a saint by Pope John Paul II in the year 2000.

The prayer is based on the message of mercy that Jesus conveyed to Saint Faustina, and it is meant to be a powerful tool for seeking God’s mercy and forgiveness.

As a Roman Catholic devotion, The Divine Mercy prayer is usually said as a rosary-based prayer. We use the same set of rosary beads that we use in reciting the Rosary or the Chaplet of Holy Wounds. But unlike reciting the Rosary it is only one-third as long.

The prayer is said at any time in the Roman Catholic church. Though it is normally said on Divine Mercy Sunday and on Fridays at 3:00 pm.

Saint Faustina wrote all about her encounter with Jesus in her diary. During this vision, Lord Jesus introduced her to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

She wrote about how Jesus had asked her to pray the Chaplet, and he also instructed others to do so.

In her diary, she wrote about her visions, and about how the prayer was threefold. Firstly meant to obtain mercy. Secondly for trust in Christ. finally to show mercy to others.

According to Saint Faustina, Jesus proclaimed anything can be obtained through this prayer.

As long as it is compatible with his will. On September 13 1935, she had a vision.

In that vision, she saw an angel sent to a city to destroy it. She began to pray to God for mercy on the city, after which she felt a strong presence of the Holy Trinity.

The angel was powerless to harm the city when she was done with the prayer.
