1st Reading – Colossians 1:24-2:3

Brothers and sisters:
24 Now I rejoice in my passion on your behalf, and I complete in my flesh the things that are lacking in the Passion of Christ, for the sake of his body, which is the Church.

25 For I have become a minister of the Church, according to the dispensation of God that has been given to me among you, so that I may fulfill the Word of God,

26 the mystery which had remained hidden to past ages and generations, but which now is manifested to his saints.

27 To them, God willed to made known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ and the hope of his glory within you.

28 We are announcing him, correcting every man and teaching every man, with all wisdom, so that we may offer every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

29 In him, too, I labor, striving according to his action within me, which he works in virtue.

1 For I want you to know the kind of solicitude that I have for you, and for those who are at Laodicea, as well as for those who have not seen my face in the flesh.

2 May their hearts be consoled and instructed in charity, with all the riches of a plenitude of understanding, with knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus.

3 For in him are hidden all treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 62:6-7, 9

R.(8) In God is my safety and my glory

6 Only in God be at rest, my soul,
for from him comes my hope.
7 He only is my rock and my salvation,
my stronghold; I shall not be disturbed.
R. In God is my safety and my glory

9 Trust in him at all times, O my people!
Pour out your hearts before him;
God is our refuge!
R. In God is my safety and my glory

Alleluia – John 10:27

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
27 My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord;
I know them, and they follow me.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel – Luke 6:6-11

6 On a certain sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.

7 The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse him.

8 But he realized their intentions and said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up and stand before us.” And he rose and stood there.

9 Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath
rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?”

10 Looking around at them all, he then said to him, “Stretch out your hand.”
He did so and his hand was restored.

11 But they became enraged and discussed together what they might do to Jesus.
