Pope John Paul I was also called Albino Luciani. He was born on October 17 1912 in Canale d’Agordo, Belluno, Veneto, Italy and died on September 28 1978 at the age of 65 in the Apostolic Palace, Vatican City. He was the pope for only 33 days.

Pope John Paul II declared him a servant of God on November 23 2003 and Pope Francis named him a Venerable on November 8 2017 after he confirmed his heroic virtue.
