Prayer Before and After Mass holds significant importance in connecting with the divine presence before participating in the sacred liturgy.

These prayers serve as heartfelt expressions of reverence, gratitude, and spiritual preparation, allowing worshippers to seek blessings, guidance, and unity with God.

Before Mass, believers humbly approach the sacrament, acknowledging their weaknesses and seeking healing, cleansing, and enlightenment.

After Mass, they offer gratitude for receiving the Body and Blood of Christ, praying for continued spiritual growth, and aspiring to witness the glory of God in eternity. These prayers encapsulate the profound devotion and spiritual communion experienced during the Mass.

Prayer Before Mass

Omnipotent and eternal God, I draw near to partake in the sacred sacrament of Your beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

As I come, I acknowledge my sickness before You, the doctor of life, my impurity before You, the wellspring of mercy, my spiritual blindness before You, the everlasting radiance, and my poverty and neediness before the Lord of celestial and earthly realms.

Gracious Lord, in Your Divine Providence, I implore You to heal my ailments, cleanse me from iniquities, illuminate my spiritual blindness, enrich my poverty, and cover my nakedness.

Prayer Before and After Mass

With profound reverence, pure faith, genuine repentance, ardent love, and resolute determination, may I partake in the Bread of Angels, the King of kings and Lord of lords, and thus be guided towards salvation. May I receive the sacrament of the Lord’s Body and Blood in its true essence and transformative power.

Merciful God, may I partake in the Body of Your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who was born of the Virgin Mary, and in doing so, be incorporated into His mystical body and counted among His faithful followers.

Loving Father, as I receive Your Son veiled in the sacrament during my earthly journey, may I one day behold His face in glorious splendour, in the realm of eternal glory, where He lives and reigns with You, now and forever. Amen.

Prayer After Mass

Lord, Almighty and ever-present Father, I express my heartfelt gratitude to You. As a sinner and an unworthy servant, I am humbled by Your boundless mercy, which has allowed me to partake in the precious Body and Blood of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

In this Holy Communion, I beseech You not to condemn or punish me, but to grant me forgiveness and salvation. May it serve as a protective helmet of faith and a shield of good intentions.

Let it cleanse me from sinful paths and eradicate my harmful desires. May it nurture within me love, patience, humility, and obedience, while empowering me to engage in virtuous actions.

May this sacred communion serve as a strong defence against all seen and unseen adversaries, calming both my physical and spiritual temptations.

May it draw me closer to You, the one true God, and guide me safely through the journey of death towards eternal bliss in Your presence.

Furthermore, I implore You to lead me, a sinner, to the heavenly banquet where You, together with Your Son and Holy Spirit, emanate true and perfect light, complete fulfilment, everlasting joy, unending gladness, and ultimate happiness for Your saints. I offer this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
