Prayer Before Communion

Lord Jesus Christ, O Son of the living God, who, according to the Father’s will and in collaboration with the Holy Spirit, bestowed life upon the world through Your sacrificial death, I implore You to deliver me from all my sins and protect me from every evil, through the reception of Your Most Sacred Body and Blood.

May I constantly adhere to Your commandments and never be separated from You. May this communion, though I am unworthy, not bring judgment and condemnation upon me, but by Your abundant goodness, serve as a safeguard and a potent remedy for my soul and body.

Lord, I am unworthy to receive You within me, but a simple word from You will suffice to heal my soul. Amen.
