St Alvardo was a wealthy merchant born in the 10th century AD in Norway and died as a martyr on May 15 1043 AD. We celebrate his feast day on May 15 every year in the Catholic Church.
Saint Alvardo was a wealthy merchant and cousin of the Norwegian King Olaf. He was killed and died as a martyr when he defended a woman on May 15, 1043, who was falsely accused of theft. His relics are interred in the cathedral of Oslo, Norway
