St Ammonius the Deacon Biography
St Ammonius the Deacon was a Deacon at Pentapolis, Lybia. Ammonius was tortured and his tongue cut out. They then left him for dead because of his faith, but he survived and died years later of natural causes.
However, because they were willing to die, and because there were attempts to kill them, they are considered martyrs.
