Biography
Saint Ansegisus, Benedictine monk at Fontenelle Abbey, France at age 18. Endowed by Charlemagne and Louis le Débonnaire with the change and rebuilding of the religious communities of Saint Sixtus, Saint Memius, Flay, and Luxeuil. He systematized the laws of Charlemagne and Louis in the Capitulars. Abbot of Fontenelle; the religious community wound up well known for learning, control, and its library. He isolated the wealth he acquired from his discretionary missions among different religious communities.
