Saint’s Biography
Saint Anthimos was bishop of Nicomedia in the late 200s in Turkey. he was killed during the persecutions of Diocletian for refusing to sacrifice to idols. The persecution of Christians during Emperor Diocletian began in 303 and was strong.
Death
He was brought to the emperor, Diocletian who ordered the bishop subjected to severe torture and then beheaded with swords. Bishop
Anthimos glorified God with his last breath and received the martyr’s crown.
