St. Apollonia of Alexandria Biography
St. Apollonia of Alexandria was a consecrated virgin and a deaconess. During ann anti-christian uprising in Alexandria caused by pagans, the mob denied Apollonia as a leader among the local Christians.
She had her teeth broken with pincers and then given a choice of either denouncing Christ or burning alive. She jumped into the fire herself.
