St Augustine Webster Life History
Saint Augustine Webster was educated at Cambridge and a priest. In 1532 he devoted his life to be a Carthusian monk at the house of Epworth. Augustine Webster was imprisoned, tortured and martyred on the orders of Thomas Cromwell when he refused to take the Oath of Supremacy recognizing English royalty as head of the Church. he is one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales.
