Saint’s Biography

Saint Basilla of Rome was the niece of the Emperor. She converted to Christianity and was baptized by Pope St. Cornelius. Basilla refused to marry a pagan patrician with whom she had an arranged marriage. He wanted her to give up her belief. She was beheaded in Rome in 304 and buried in the catacombs on Via Salaria outside Rome.
