St Baudelius of Nimes, also known as Baldiri, Basile, Baudelio, Baudile, Baudilio, Baudilus, Bausile, Boal, or Boi, was a married lay evangelist born in the 3rd century AD in Orleans, France. He was beheaded and died as a martyr in Nîmes, France for preaching against false gods. We celebrate his feast day on May 20 every year in the Catholic Church.

Saint Baudelius of Nimes was a married Lay. He and his wife evangelized the region of Nîmes. He was beheaded for interrupting a pagan sacrifice.
Baudelius’s cult spread very far from Nîmes: many localities bear his name and over 400 religious buildings are dedicated to him, in France and Spain.
