Saint Brendan of Birr was also known as Brendan of Biorra. He was a companion and sibling priest with Saint Brendan the Navigator at Clonard nunnery.

Profound understudy of Saint Finian. Established the cloister at Birr in Offaly, focal Ireland c.540, and filled in as its abbot.

Companion and guide of Saint Columba. At Brendan’s passing, Columba had a dream of the abbot’s spirit being diverted by blessed messengers.
