St Cathan of Bute, also known as Cadan, Catan, or Chattan, was a bishop on the Isle of Bute, Scotland. He was born in the 6th century AD in Ireland, died, and buried in Tamlacht, Ireland. We celebrate his feast day on May 17 every year in the Catholic Church.

Saint Cathan of Bute was the uncle of St. Blane. Later he became bishop of Bute in Scotland in the 6th century. Cathan died at an unknown date in the 6th century AD, but a tomb bearing his name was found at Tamlacht, Ireland.
