Saint Christina of Bolsena Biography
Saint Christina of Bolsena, born to be a wealthy pagan family. Converted as a teenager, she destroyed all the idols in her father's house; those of gold and silver broke up and gave to the poor. Scourged, tortured and martyred for their new faith.
Her story and that of St. Christina of Tire seem to have been confused and interconnected through the centuries. Her father tied a rock around her neck and threw her into Lake Bolsena.
When she miraculously survived, her tongue was cut out and she was thrown into an oven. when she survived they shot her full of arrows on the order of the magistrate who was persecuting Christians on behalf of Diocletian
