Blessed Pierre de Barellis was born to the French nobility. He was a Mercedarian friar who served as the attorney general of his Order. He became Papal legate. He was made cardinal-deacon by Pope Nicholas IV.

He died of natural causes in Ascoli Piceno, Italy and buried in the same location of Ascoli Piceno.
