Saint’s Biography
Saint Conleth of Kildare was a hermit living in Old Connell on the River Liffey in County Kildare. He was a skilled worker in gold and silver. He became a close friend of his co-worker Saint Brigid, who brought him to Kildare. His reputation for holiness attracted many disciples. They ran first double monastery together and later St. Conleth became the first bishop of Kildare, Ireland in 490 AD. He died while on a pilgrimage to Rome, Italy.
