Saint Cugat del Valles Biography
Saint Cugat del Valles, born into a famous family in North Africa. He fled to Spain to avoid persecution by Diocletian. Spiritual teacher of St. Juliana of Mataro and St. Semproniana of Mataro. Arrested for his faith in Barcelona, he was dragged to Governor Dacian and ordered to sacrifice idols; When he refused, he was imprisoned, tortured and executed. Martyr. Prudentius mentions him in his hymns.
