Saint’ Biography
Saint Cywyllog ferch Caw lived in Wales. She was the daughter of the Saint Caw, King of Arecluta, a district on the River Clyde in Scotland. Caw was turned out of his territory by Picts, and he had to flee with his family in Wale. Maelgwn Gwynedd gave him the land in Twr Celyn in the northeastern Anglesey. Cywyllog founded a church in Wale and married Mordred, King Arthur’s traitorous nephew. She was widowed, Cywllog retired from the world to live as a nun in the 6th century.
