Biography
St. Dositeus was a layman serving under a senior army officer. During a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, he saw a painting of hell which made him change his life becoming a monk in Palestine. He fully committed himself to religion denying himself so much that it affected his health and died soon after joining the monastery.
