St Emiliana of Rome was the daughter of the senator Gordian and Saint Silvia of Rome. St. Emiliana was the sister of Saint Trasilla. Her parents were senator Gordian and his wife Saint Silvia of Rome. St. Emiliana family came from an ancient Roman noble family, Gens Anicia. Her grandfather was Saints Pope Felix III (483-92).
Emiliana lived under strict religious discipline as nuns in their father Gordian’s house in Rome. Her father wanted her to marry but Emiliana maintained her way of life until death. Emiliana was not really a nun In a monastery but was consecrated and lived according to the rule of the nuns.
Saint Trasilla died on December 24 around 550 and after a few days St. Emiliana died on January 5.
