Saint’s Biography
Saint Erminold of Prüfening was born around 11th century Germany. He was from a nobility family and as a child was given to the monastery of Hirsau (Hirschau) in the Black Forest as a sacrifice to God. There he got his education and became a Benedictine monk. In 1110, he became an abbot in Lorsch, Germany.
Death
Erminold was very strict and that what led to his death. He was assaulted by a lay brother of the community with a heavy piece of wood that he died the following day, January 6, 1121, at Prüfening Abbey, Germany.
