It is reported that he brought along a portrait of the Virgin Mary, which St. Luke had painted. He died in Illiturgis, Spain in the 1st century, and a church was built over his grave in the 7th century. Euphrasius’s relics were brought before the invasion of the Moors in the Mao valley in the province Lugo in Galacia, Spain.
