Biography
Saint Fintán of Clonenagh was a spiritual student of Saint Columba and a hermit at Clonenagh in Ireland. He formed a house for people who always hanged around him as his students and became their abbot. Fintan set it so nice that the neighboring monasteries complained that they could not keep up with the level.
He was the spiritual teacher of Saint Comgall of Bangor.
It is said that his mother was visited by an angel to explain that she bore a holy son. Fintan was known to have gifts of prophecy and knowledge for future events. It was witnessed that when he prayed, light surrounded him.
