Saint Hugh of Lincoln Biography

Saint Hugh of Lincoln was born to nobility, the child of William, Lord of Avalon. His mom Anna passed on when he was eight, and he was raised and taught at a cloister at Villard-Benoit in France. A priest at 15. Elder at 19. Earlier of a religious community at Saint-Maxim. Joined the Carthusians in 1160. Appointed in 1165. In 1175 he progressed toward becoming abbot of the main English Carthusian cloister, which was worked by King Henry II as a feature of his atonement for the homicide of Thomas Becket.
