Saint Hymnemodus of Saint-Maurice Life History

Saint Hymnemodus of Saint-Maurice also known as Hymnemodus of San-Moritz, Enemodus, Himnemond, Hymnemode, Hymnodus, Hynnemond, Ymnemodus was born in 455 in Burgundy in France. He was the first official in the court of King Gundobad of Burgundy.

Despite the objections of his ruler, Hymnemodus entered the monastery of Grigney in Vienne in France. Later he later became the abbey of the monastery. In 515 Hymnemodus was appointed Abbey for the Saint-Maurice by the king.

The monastery expanded with the help of the royal support and financing and later centuries became a major religious center and pilgrimage site. Seven months later he died on January 3, 516 of natural causes.
