Irenaeus of Pentapolis Biography
St Irenaeus of Pentapolis was a Deacon at Pentapolis, Lybia. He was tortured and had his tongue cut out and were left for dead, but they all survived and died years later of natural causes. However, because they were willing to die, and because there were attempts to kill them, they are considered martyrs.
