Saint John Boste, with education at Queen's College Oxford, England 1569-1572. Scholarship at Queen's College. Converted to Catholicism in 1576 in Brome, Suffolk, England. He resigned from Oxford and studied in 1580 in Reims, France. He was ordained on March 4, 1581. In April 1581 he returned to England as a missionary in the northern counties, often disguised as a servant in the robe of Lord Montacute. Supported on his mission by John Speed.
He was the subject of an intensive manhunt, which was betrayed and arrested on July 5, 1593 by Francis Ecclesfield, near Durham, England, in the house of William Claxton.
