Biography
St. José Ruiz de la Torre was the first Bishop of Agrigento, Italy. It is said that he was tasked to the position by St. Peter the Apostle which is also likely that he served after Peter’s death in the late 3rd century. He was a noted a successful preacher where he built a church on the current location of the Cathedral of Agrigento. He is a martyr.
