St Joseph Marchand Life History
St Joseph Marchand was a Seminarian in Orsan in 1821. Minister. Learned at the Paris Society of Foreign Missions. Teacher to Annam, Vietnam in 1830.
In 1832 he was offered the situation of a leader of the Foreign Mission Seminary in Paris, yet declined to proceed with his work in the field.
Moved to the territory of Binh-Thuean. In 1833 an illustrious announcement requested the capture of every European preacher.
Father Joseph was captured and detained in Saigon for a year and a half. He was confined, tormented, damaged lastly killed. One of the Martyrs of Vietnam.
