Saint Phlegon of Hyrcania

St Phlegon of Hyrcania, also called Flegon, served as a bishop in Hyrcania, Greece during the first century. It is believed that he could have been one of the “70 Disciples of Christ”.

According to the Epistle to the Romans, 16:14, Saint Phlegon was one of the individuals mentioned in a reading that greeted Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and other accompanying brothers.

Sadly, he was martyred, and his name was mentioned by Saint Paul the Apostle in the Epistle to the Romans.

Saint Herodion of Patras

St Herodion of Patras, also called Herodian of Patras or Rhodion of Patras, served as a bishop in Patras, Greece during the first century.

It is believed that he may have been one of the “70 Disciples of Jesus”. In the Epistle to the Romans, 16:11, Saint Herodion was mentioned in a reading that greeted him as “my kinsman” by Saint Paul the Apostle.

Sadly, he died as a martyr. Saint Paul also referred to Saint Herodion as “my brother”.

Blessed Gonzalo Mercador

Gonzalo Mercador, who is now known as Blessed Gonzalo Mercador, served as a Mercedarian friar and also held the position of bishop in Granada, Spain.

In 1450, he took part in the Council of Florence. However, while returning home from the council, he was captured, imprisoned, beaten, and subjected to torture because of his Christian faith.

Sadly, he was executed by beheading in 1450, and his death is recognized as that of a martyr.

Saint Asyncritus of Marathon

St Asyncritus of Marathon served as a bishop in Marathon, Greece during the first century. It is believed that he may have been one of the “70 Disciples of Christ”.

In the Epistle to the Romans, 16:14, Saint Asyncritus was mentioned in a reading by Saint Paul the Apostle that greeted him along with other individuals such as Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and accompanying brothers. Sadly, he was martyred.

Saint Dionysius was known for opposing the teachings of Marcionites and other heretical beliefs that emerged during his time, demonstrating his commitment to orthodox Christianity.

Saint Beata of Ribnitz

St Beata of Ribnitz, also known as Beate or Beatrix, was born into a noble family as the daughter of Duke Heinrich of Mecklenburg in 14th century Mecklenburg, Germany.

She entered the convent in Ribnitz, Germany and became a nun in the Poor Clare order. Eventually, she was appointed as the abbess of the convent in 1350, demonstrating her strong leadership skills and commitment to her faith.

Saint Beata died on April 8, 1339 in Ribnitz, Germany.

Saint Redemptus of Ferentini served as the bishop of Ferentini, Italy during his lifetime. He is recognized for his devotion to the Christian faith and his service to the local community.
