St Mael was a hermit in Wales who was born in Brittany, France and died on the Isle of Bardsey in Wales. We celebrate his feast day on May 13 every year in the Catholic Church.
Saint Mael was born in Brittany, France and traveled to Wales in the 6th century with Saint Cadfan. There he spent the rest of his life as a hermit on the Bardsey Island. Mael was known for his holiness and wisdom.
