Saint’s Biography
Saint Magnus was the first son of Erlend Thorfinnsson, Earl of Orkney and Thora the daughter of Sumarlidi Ospaksson. He had a brother named Erling, and two sisters Gunnhild and Cecilia. He was related to King Olav II and King Harald II of Norway.

He was raised as a pagan and lived as a pirate. St. Magnus Convert to Christianity. Saint Magnus became unpopular among royal court when he refused to fight Christians.

Saint Magnus was struck in the head with an axe on April 16, 1115, at Egilsay Island. His feast day is on April 16.
