Saint’s Biography
Saint Martha of Persia was born in a noble family. She was the wife of Saint Maris, mother of Saint Audifax and Saint Abachum. She and her family were Christian pilgrims from Persia, who had come to Rome to visit the graves of the martyrs. During the reign of Emperor Claudius II, nicknamed Gothicus (268-270). She and her family were arrested and killed for Christ’s sake. Marius, Audifax, and Abachum were beheaded, Martha was drowned in a lake. They were buried in Ad Nymphas in Rome, Italy.
