Saint’s Biography
Saint Martinian of Belozersk was born in 1398 in Russia. His parents were poor, and so they left their son to the monks in the Belozersk monastery at White Lake. Martinian was a spiritual student of Saint Cyril. Later in life, he became a monk, a priest, and an abbot of the Trinity Laura of Saint Sergius. Martinian also became an advisor to the Grand Prince of Moscow. He retired to the monastery at White Lake where he died at 86 years old in 1483 of natural causes.
