Saint’s Biography
Saint Mary Salome was the wife of Zebedee and the mother of saint Saint John the Apostle, and Saint James the Greater. She was the cousin of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In Jerusalem, “three Mary,” Mary of Cleophas and Salome, who together with Mary Magdalene accompanied Jesus on his travels, preaching the gospel. She witnessed Jesus’ death on the cross, his burial, and his resurrection. Mark mentions Salome as one woman who came to anoint the body of Jesus on the morning of the Resurrection.
