St Megingaud of Würzburg was born in 710 AD in Franconia. He was a Benedictine monk at the monastery of Fritzlar, Germany, in 738. St Megingaud of Würzburg was also the teacher at the abbey school.


He was also an Abbot at Fritzlar. Megingaud became the Bishop of Würzburg, Germany in February 754. He finally retired to Neustadt abbey to spend his last days as a prayerful monk In 769.
