Saint’s Biography
St Merewenna was a Benedictine nun and the first abbess of Rumsey convent in Hampshire after its restoration of King Edward the Peaceful in 967 AD. She was the spiritual teacher of Saint Elfleda.
After she died in 970 AD her relics were interred in the convent church, Rumsey convent, Hampshire, England.
