Saint’s Biography

Saint Metrone of Verona lived in the 8th-century and to atone for his sins chained himself to a stone in front of the cathedral of Verona. He threw the keys into Adige River and lived there on the street for seven years in penance. Years later the keys were found in the belly of a fish and taken to the local bishop and free Metrone from his chains and welcomed him to active Communion in the Church.
