St. Modan Biography
St. Modan was a monk at Dryburgh Abbey in 522 AD where he was committed to 7-8 hour prayer a day. He was a preacher in Scotland. In his later age, he retired to be a hermit at Dumbarton, Scotland.
Legends say that during dry seasons he could be requested to stick his staff on the ground and have a spring of water emerge.
