St. Nicholas Studites Biography
St. Nicholas Studites he studied at the Studius monastery in Constantinople at a very young age. He later became a monk at 18. He was expelled during the years of Iconoclast prosecutions. On return, he became an abbot of his house.
He was again exiled on openly opposing Pontius replacing Saint Ignatius of Constantinople. When he was returning to his monastery in 858 AD, he was already old and spent time as a monk.
