Saint Mercury of Lentini
St Mercury of Lentini was also known as Mercury of Leontium or Mercurius. He was beheaded in Lentini, Sicily, Italy.
Additionally, he was also an officer in the imperial Roman army where he led a group of soldiers escorting Christian prisoners to trial during the persecutions of emperor Licinius and governor Tertyllus.
Through him, Mercurius and many of his men were converted to the faith by the prisoners while on the road and were martyred with them.
Saint Thomas of Farfa
St Thomas of Farfa was born at Maurienne, Savoy, France, and died of natural causes in 720 AD.
He was a Benedictine monk and pilgrim to the Holy Land. He Lived as a hermit near Farfa Abbey, Italy.
He was a friend of the Duke of Spoleto, Italy. He restored Farfa Abbey with the financial aid of the duke and became the abbot.
Holy House of Loreto
The Holy House of Loreto has been one of the famous shrines of the Blessed Virgin Mary since the 13th century.
The feast is so named from the tradition that the house where the Holy Family lived in Nazareth, was transported by angels to the city of Loreto, Italy. The Holy House is now encased by a basilica.
Saint Gemellus of Ancyra
St Gemellus of Ancyra was also known as Gemellus of Edessa or Gemellus of Paphlagonia.
He was crucified in 362 AD at Ancyra, Galatia (Asia Minor), and martyred in the persecutions of Julian the Apostate.
Blessed Fulgentius of Afflighem
Blessed Fulgentius of Afflighem was a Benedictine monk at the monastery of Saint Airy in Verdun, France.
When the monastery, was dissolved due to political conflicts, Fulgentius became a monk and then abbot of the monastery of Afflighem, Belgium.
Blessed Sidney Hodgson
Blessed Sidney Hodgson was an English-born Layman. He was a convert and was martyred for assisting priests during a period of English history when Catholicism was outlawed.
He was hanged, drawn, and quartered on December 10 1591 at Tyburn, London, England. He was beatified on December 15 1929 by Pope Pius XI.
Saint Caesarius of Epidamnus
St Caesarius of Epidamnus was also known as Caesarius of Durazzo, Caesarius of Durrës, Caesarius of Dyrrachium, or Cesare.
He was among the 72 disciples of Christ described in Acts and he was a bishop of Epidamnus (modern Durrës, Albania) and also a Martyr.
Blessed Albert of Sassovivo
Blessed Albert of Sassovivo was born to the nobility, the son of Count Gualterio of Sassovivo, Foligno, Umbria, Italy who gave land to Blessed Mainard the land to build the Benedictine Holy Cross Abbey.
Albert became a monk and later abbot there. He died of natural causes in 1012 AD.
Blessed Sebastian Montanol
Blessed Sebastian Montanol was a Spanish-born Dominican missionary to Zacatecas, Mexico.
Some natives treated the Eucharist with disrespect, and Sebastian chastised them, and thereafter they murdered him in 1616 AD in Zacatecas, Mexico.
Saint Sindulf of Vienne
St Sindulf of Vienne was also known as Dreiuls, Sindolf, Sindulfe, Sindulfus, Sindulphe, Sindulphus, or Syndulphe.
He was a Bishop of Vienne, France, and died in 669 AD. Additionally, he attended councils in 625 AD and 630 AD and also encouraged the monastic life in his diocese.
Blessed Guglielmo de Carraria
Blessed Guglielmo de Carraria was also known as William of Carraria. He was a soldier and a Mercedarian knight at the convent of Santa Maria d’Esteron in Menorca, Spain.
He was noted for his austere lifestyle and personal piety.
Saint Carpophorus
St Carpophorus was also known as Carpoforo. He was a priest and was martyred 300 AD at Spoleto, Italy, or Seville, Spain (records vary) in the persecutions of Diocletian.
Additionally, he is the patron saint of Arona, Italy.
Saint Guitmarus
St Guitmarus was also known as Guimar, Guimare, Guimer, Guitmaire, Guitmar, Guitmer, Vitmar, Vitmarus, Widmar, Widmer, Witmaire, Witmar or Witmer.
He was an abbot at St-Riquier Abbey, Normandy, France. He died in 765 AD.
Saint Florentius of Carracedo
St Florentius of Carracedo died of natural causes in 1156 AD.
He was a Benedictine monk, and abbot of the house at Carracedo, Leon, Spain, and was greatly esteemed by King Alphonsus VII.
Saint Deusdedit of Brescia
