St John Joseph of the Cross Biography

St John Joseph of the Cross joined Franciscans at the age of 16. He practiced Asceticism which simply means practicing a lifestyle characterized by abstinence from sensual pleasures, often for the purpose of pursuing spiritual goals.

St John Joseph of the Cross was the first Italian to follow the reform movement of St Peter Alcantara who ought to make the order more devoted to atonement and austerity.
