Blessed Daniel of Schönau was born in the 12th century in Germany. He became a Cistercian monk at Himmerod Abbey in Grosslittgen, Germany and later prior of the house. He was abbot of the Schönau Abbey in Heidelberg, Germany and died in 1218 of natural causes.

Saint Gudene of Carthage also known as Guddene was tortured, imprisoned for a long period and finally executed in the persecutions of Proconsul Rufino. He was beheaded in Carthage, North Africa now modern Tunis, Tunisia and died as a martyr.
