Saint’s Biography
Saint Otto of Morocco was a Monk. Together with Saint Francis of Assisi, they preached to the Muslims in Morocco. He and other missionaries preached in Italy, Aragon, Coimbra, Seville, and Morocco, where they were banished and murdered upon their return. He died on 16 January 1220 in Morocco. Otto’s relics were ransomed, and are now in the monastery of the Holy Cross in Coimbra, Portugal.
