St Pontius of Cimiez, also known as Ponzio was born in 3rd century AD in Rome, Italy and died as a martyr in 258 AD in Cimiez (Cimella) France. We celebrate his feast day on May 14 every year in the Catholic Church.
Saint Pontius of Cimiez was killed in the persecutions of Valerian and Gallienus in 258 in France. His relics are kept in Saint-Pons, France, named after him.
