St Rasso of Grafrath, also known as Ratho of Andechs, was a Benedictine monk. He was born in 900 AD in Bavaria, Germany and died in 953 AD. We celebrate his feast day on May 17 every year in the Catholic Church.

Saint’s Biography
Saint Rasso of Grafrath was born the son of the German nobility and became an Earl. Later he became a soldier and fought against invading Hungarians.
After many battles, Rasso returned, founded a Benedictine monastery and entered the monastery as a monk.
The house was named in his honor (Grafrath). Rasso took a pilgrim to the Holy Land and then to Rome, Italy.
