Saint’s Biography
Saint Sophia of Rome was a young woman who died in the persecutions of Diocletian in 304 AD in Rome, Italy. Sophia was buried in the cemetery of Gordianus and Epimachus outside Rome.
Her relics are kept in at the convent at Eschau, France by Saint Remigius of Strasbourg in 778. Some are enshrined at the high altar of the church of San Martino ai Monti in Rome by Pope Sergius II 845 AD.
